Howdy! My name is Liv (she/her) but you can also call me Jelly, and I am the webmaster of JellyBeast.com! I am a twenty-something college student living in the Southwestern United States and I’m currently working towards a degree in biology (and perhaps illustration as well). I absolutely love creating art and though my favorite mediums are pen, pencil, and watercolor, I will create using any medium I can get my hands on. I also have a passion for learning and science, and I love nature and animals. I have probably too many hobbies and I’m constantly picking up more. Some of my favorite hobbies include art (of course), birdwatching, cosplay, shiny hunting pokemon, rock collecting, card collecting, and most recently coding. I’m so excited to be able to share my adventures with the world and I’ll try to update this site as frequently as possible!
I made this site as a hub of sorts where I can collect all my art and share my passions and hobbies. In a way this site is an ongoing art project in itself and my ode to the wacky and unique web pages of the early internet. As someone who resents the sterile and corporate look of the web we frequently access today, I have derived a lot of inspiration from the lost personal pages of Geocities from the late 1990s to early 2000s. In fact many of the elements used on my pages come directly from these pages via GifCites on the Internet Archive. I also use NeoCities to host my site (if you're interested in the old web aesthetic and the indie web, I suggest you definitely check out NeoCities and maybe even make your own website, It’s free!)
