Hey all! I'm Liv but I also go by Jelly online. I'm currently a student in my twenties and I'm pursuing a degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. I'm passionate about a lot of things and probably have too many hobbies, but I'm honestly okay with that.

As cliche as it sounds, I've loved creating things for as long as I can remember. Making art in particular has always been something I've occupied my free time with. My mediums of choice are colored pencils, watercolors, and pens, but I have worked with many mediums over the years including clay, paint, collage, glass, wood, fabric, etc.

My art is very much inspired by the natural world and our scientific understanding of it. In fact, I like to view my art as an attempt to answer the question of "what if we viewed science the same way we viewed magic and mystism?" I have always found myself drawn to witchy motifs like sigils, magic crystals, bottles of potions, and familiars, and as a biology student it's extremely fascinating to see how these motifs resemble those in science. The sigils are mathematical constants, magic crystals are labratory compounds and salts, bottles of potions are test tubes of solution, and familiars are model species. Technically, much of the field of chemistry had its roots in alchemy, which focused on mysticism and spiritualism.

With all this in mind, I intend to hopefully change perspectives on science with my creations. Science tends to be seen as cold and rigid, with a disregard for creativity. I've found, however, that science is nothing but creativity and child-like curiosity about the universe.
